Our Delicious Story

Originally called "The Three Bears," this historic house stands on a 12th-century fortification site in Prague’s Lesser Town, founded in 1257 by King Přemysl Otakar II. First mentioned in 1398 as monastery property, it later served as the town hall before passing through various owners, including master-builder Dominik de Bossi and merchant Peroni. After multiple reconstructions due to fires and wars, it merged with a neighboring house in the 17th century and became known as "The White Ox House." Used as a restaurant in the 18th century, it became a renowned wine tavern under the Stüdl family in 1866. After World War II, a Yugoslav wine-bar keeper renamed it "Makarska," a name it retains today. Enjoy your visit and bon appétit!
